GAMELAN ENCANTADA is always looking for new members, and is open to all interested musicians and composers. If you have some percussion or other musical experience, enjoy working with a devoted group of people, and are willing and able to commit to weekly evening rehearsals on a regular ongoing basis, we'd love to have you join us! And please be sure to keep your calendars open for a reception on Sunday, March 8, 2009, when Gamelan Encantada will be performing at the opening of the exhibit "Dancing Shadows: Epic Tales: Wayang Kulit of Indonesia" at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The exhibit will feature a full set of over 200 shadow puppets from the courts of Surakarta, Central Java. The opening reception will be held from 1-4pm and is free to NM residents.
